OK. $465 in 30 days?
I realize this is a lofty and very ambitious goal for me... But I just can't resist trying!
If I fail, I'll probably learn what I'm spending or wasting my money on... which will then teach me how and where to make adjustments. Yet if I meet my targeted goal, I not only save a nice chunk of money but learn to develop some discipline and God knows what else? It'll be win-win either way.

We often suggest tracking spending by using a free program like www.mint.com. It a very valuable lesson to force yourself to be targeted and disciplined for an entire month...will it be revealing? I'm lazy, I only allowed spending when specific bills were due! Had to monitor driving as I only bought gas on 1st, 15th and 30th of the 1st month I tracked. It got easier as I continued and got more motivated.

I'm using this challenge to extend my savings a little more than I normally do. I want to see how much I can save if I'm really conscientious about it. It's not so much what it's for (bills, additional line of savings), as much as it is about going through the process. I need to experience what I would change to reduce spending, in order to accumulate targeted money in 30 days. Thank you for the tip on mint.com, I already use it and refer my friends to it.
Cheers!
